Canada Canada Post has announced a labour disruption starting November 15, 2024. This will affect both letters mailed to patients from OH-CCO and the FIT kits mailed to Lifelabs from patients.
Our patients will not receive their reminders from OH-CCO to get screened nor their results letters. Patients with an abnormal breast screening result, will be contacted by their OBSP site to arrange additional tests.
We can still order FIT kits but they will not be delivered until after the service disruption ends. During the postal disruption, we should advise our patients that completed FIT kits should not be returned by mail but instead dropped off at a lifelabs location. Stool samples break down over time. If the sample is received 15-30 days from collection, the lab may be unable to determine a result. If received more than 30 days after collection, the sample will not be tested.
